The National Lottery Heritage Fund has partnered with the Windsor Fellowship to offer graduates the opportunity to experience working in the largest dedicated grant funder of the UK’s heritage.
This 12-month internship programme provides a great way to gain paid work experience, employability support and guidance to individuals from communities that are currently underrepresented in the heritage sector. The programme is designed to equip interns with the skills and knowledge necessary to apply for full-time positions in the Heritage Fund on completion of the programme.
Who can apply?
- You must be from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background.
- A recent graduate from an undergraduate or post-graduate course (maximum 3 years).
- Have no restrictions on living or working in the UK.
- Be able to commit to all aspects of the programme.
- Able to work in one of the cities listed under ‘locations’ for the duration of the internship.
The Traineeship Programme includes:
- The provision of eight seminars involving talks/insight seminars that focus on the development of key skills and competencies.
- Continuous support from an allocated Development Mentor.
- Networking opportunities.
- A paid one-year internship, during which time you will undertake separate modules of work (“assignments”) across various departments.
Opportunities exist in HR, Finance, Legal and Governance, Investment Management (support for funding and grant awards), Engagement Management (customer and community support and outreach) and more.
Normally two assignment rotations in different teams, each six months duration. Longer assignments may be possible by mutual agreement.
During each assignment you will get involved in supporting the delivery of key services, and you will also be asked to undertake a management project.
