Leadership Programmes – Wales/Cymru (LPW)

This programme includes a paid internship with the Welsh Government and volunteering.

The Leadership Programme is a personal and professional development programme for undergraduates. The programme combines residential training seminars, a paid work placement and volunteering, which together enhance your education, employability and citizenship skills.

Support comes not only from the staff and peers but also from our alumni base of Graduate Fellows who provide advice, encouragement and a useful network for your career development. We have trained over 1,900 Fellows on our programmes since 1986 and they have gone on to become leaders in a diverse range of industries.

The Windsor Fellowship helps to develop leaders who in turn help to sustain and grow the organisation.

Graduate Fellows participate by attending seminars as Guides, marketing the WF to their employers or potential applicants or even joining the Trustee Board.

About the Welsh Government

The Welsh Government is the devolved Government of Wales. They are responsible for delivering and developing policies and programmes for most of the day-to-day concerns of the people of Wales, including Health, Education, Social Justice, Rural affairs, Transport and Economic Development.

The Welsh Government offers a whole range of career opportunities for administrators, managers and policy experts in a range of fields. We also employ many specialists – including economists, lawyers and accountants.

As part of the Welsh Governments’ effort to reflect the diversity of the UK’s population, it is partnering with the Windsor Fellowship to offer a 50-week Internship Programme in addition to the 6-8 week 2019 Summer Internship for recent graduates from Black African, Black Caribbean or Asian backgrounds. The aim of the programme is to provide work experience, employability support and guidance to individuals from communities that are currently under-represented in the Welsh Government graduate level workforce.
