AHRC-funded PhD Studentship at Keele University in collaboration with Windsor Fellowship.
Applications are invited for an AHRC-funded PhD in Music, supervised collaboratively by Keele University and Windsor Fellowship:
Exploring the effectiveness of positive action measures within contemporary UK music and music technology contexts and opportunities (2010- present)’.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading equalities charity on a project to progress understanding and policies associated with positive action within music and/or music technology contexts.
This full-time studentship, which is funded for 3.5 years at standard AHRC rates, will begin on 1 September 2025. It is especially suitable for students with a background in Music or Music Technology and may appeal to those with an interest in equality work and inclusive practices.
The Studentship
• The studentship is awarded subject to AHRC eligibility criteria and covers tuition fees and a grant (stipend) towards living expenses for three and a half years.
• The national minimum doctoral stipend for 2023/24 has been set by Research Councils UK at £19,237 per annum for Collaborative Doctoral Students.
• Students are also eligible to draw additional funding to support the cost of training, research trips, conferences, and other development opportunities that will benefit the student’s doctoral research and future career development.
Who Can Apply
• To have a Masters- level advanced research training or equivalent.
• To have a good undergraduate degree in Music or Music Technology or a related discipline
• To have resided in the UK three years before the start of postgraduate studies.
• International applicants are eligible to apply for this studentship and Keele University will consider covering the cost of additional international fees.
