Employment Opportunities at the Windsor Fellowship

Development Mentor

£18-24K per annum pro rata

The Windsor Fellowship is an education charity delivering leadership programmes for black and minority ethnic undergraduates and working with school pupils, teachers and parents in addressing the challenges of underachievement amongst young people in the school system. We are seeking an excellent candidate for the following position.

The post is a fixed term, full time position ending 31 March 2009. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of Windsor Fellowship Programmes targeted at students in higher education. The HEE includes the Windsor Fellowship Leadership Programme for Undergraduates, the Passport to Employment Programme and several Customised Programmes (undertaken in partnership with specific organisations).

Development Mentors are the principal link between the Fellowship, its Fellows and partnering organisations. They provide support and structured encouragement to Fellows’ learning and development. They are additionally responsible for the marketing of and recruitment onto the HEE Programmes.

The Windsor Fellowship is recruiting Volunteer Mentors to support the personal development of young people from BAME communities in pre and post-19 education. Mentors will gain the opportunity to develop their personal communication skills in the context of a one-to- one mentoring relationship as a compliment to the development opportunities offered within the Windsor Fellowship’s programmes. Matches will be made according to correspondences between the declared needs, aims and objectives of Mentees and the personal and professional experience of the assigned Mentor. Previous experience in Mentoring/Coaching is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
